Our capabilities include design and analysis, validation and verification, logistics and operations, and business process re-engineering (BPR). We provide related services for technical analysis, project planning and requirements analysis, systems integration and testing, configuration management, and logistics. All of our systems engineering activities are focused on reducing the client’s Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and increasing Return on Investment (ROI).

We successfully manage hardware and software engineering, installation, acquisition, testing, and logistics for several defense and science clients. At Wright-Patterson AFB, RSIS developed a tracking system for mission-critical government-furnished equipment (GFE) during production of the C-17 aircraft.

We also conducted an in-depth BPR analysis of the Office of Naval Research’s (ONR) paper-based travel process, helping to streamline travel processing by 33 percent.

At the National Weather Service’s (NWS) Radar Operations Center (ROC), we support the complete systems lifecycle for more than 200 weather radar sites.

For the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), we collect, store, and distribute satellite data and imagery to the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) user community.

Telecommunications

WYLE Information Systems Group designs, implements, and supports integrated voice and data communication systems for federal clients across the country. We manage and maintain voice communications hardware and software, provide 24x7x365 remote and on-site telecommunications support, and install and support video teleconferencing centers for meetings and collaboration. We deploy and maintain the CISCO Avvid VoIP solution to 128 Job Corps Centers nationwide saving JCDC over $1M annually in long distance carrier costs.

We manage large-scale telecommunications facilities serving thousands of users at multiple locations. For the FAA, we support voice switching systems at nine regional offices, multiple Air Route Traffic Control Centers and Terminal Radar Approach Control Centers, and other FAA facilities. The WYLE Information Systems Group NOC in Washington D.C. provides fully redundant telecommunications support to the FAA’s nationwide network of voice switching, voicemail, and conference bridge systems.

Information assurance and cybersecurity

WYLE Information Systems Group has specialists working to protect sensitive systems from attack on approximately 40 federal contracts. Nearly all of our security specialists are certified by The SANS Institute, and the majority are Certified Information Systems Security Professionals (CISSP). Our leading IT security specialist holds numerous Global Information Assurance Certifications (GIAC) and was the Project Leader for the Center for Internet Security’s (CIS) Apache Benchmark Project for three years. Federal agencies are embracing the CIS benchmarks to address many of the cybersecurity requirements defined by the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and other guidelines.

We also provide expertise to advise FAA regarding National Airspace System (NAS) Information System Security (ISS) requirements and security architecture with the objective of ensuring that the NAS modernization includes adequate and appropriate security, including ISS planning, budgeting and oversight.  RSIS conducts IA activities with the objective of assisting FAA in ensuring that ATO policies and procedures are implemented and systems are protected.

Since May 2003, AFMC and WYLE Information Systems Group have partnered to create a solid foundation to deliver continued service excellence and a migration path through various stages of AFNetOps transformation.  Following the transition to the current AFMS NOSC contract, we immediately began working to transform the AFMC NOSC into the AF benchmark for Network Defense and Operations.  The result: ISO 9001:2000 Certified repeatable processes and the only AF NOSC with a rating of “Optimized” by the AFCA Scope EDGE Team.

Help desk and technical support

WYLE Information Systems Group provides help desk support on more than 40 contracts to approximately 75,000 end-users at 15 major federal agencies. Our HQ Quality Improvement Office helps develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), best practices, and continuous improvement processes, using ISO 9001:2000 certified procedures. In some cases, we provide 24x7x365 on-call technical support, seat management assistance, and hardware maintenance.

We enhance help desk support for its customers through innovation and consolidation. At ONR, we trained our help desk staff in database report development to make responses to data requests more efficient and timely.

For the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), we staffed a help desk operation within the Network Operations Center (NOC), which supports more than 42,000 FAA users at 36 sites nationwide, using ACE*COMM NetPlus® v6 TMS for trouble ticketing and configuration management.

Scientific support services

WYLE Information Systems Group engineers provide mission-critical scientific programming and analysis on multiple NOAA and NASA contracts.  Our meteorologists support the entire spectrum of weather prediction and modeling development for the National Weather Service (NWS), the Climate Prediction Center (CPC), and the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Lab (GFDL).

For NOAA, we helped develop, test, and deploy a major upgrade to the Next Generation Weather Radar (NEXRAD) network, which provides early warning and tracking of tornadoes, major storms, and other potentially destructive weather events.  We completed improvements to this system two months ahead of schedule at a cost savings of $100,000.  We also helped develop global forecast systems for the National Weather Service’s Climate Prediction Center, visualization applications for the Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS), and advanced atmospheric and oceanic dynamics research systems for the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory.
